Psalms 97
1The Lord reigns! Let the earth rejoice! Let the multitude of islands be glad!
2Clouds and darkness are around him. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3A fire goes before him, and burns up his adversaries on every side.
4His lightning lights up the world. The earth sees, and trembles.
5The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6The heavens declare his righteousness. All the peoples have seen his glory.
7Let all them be shamed who serve engraved images, who boast in their idols. Worship him, all you gods!
8Zion heard and was glad. The daughters of Judah rejoiced, because of your judgments, Lord.
9For you, Lord, are most high above all the earth. You are exalted far above all gods.
10You who love the Lord, hate evil. He preserves the souls of his holy ones. He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
11Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.
12Be glad in the Lord, you righteous people! Give thanks to his holy Name.
Psalms 98
1Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand, and his holy arm, have worked salvation for him.
2The Lord has made known his salvation. He has openly shown his righteousness in the sight of the nations.
3He has remembered his loving kindness and his faithfulness toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Burst out and sing for joy, yes, sing praises!
5Sing praises to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the voice of melody.
6With trumpets and sound of the ram's horn, make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord.
7Let the sea roar with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell therein.
8Let the rivers clap their hands. Let the mountains sing for joy together.
9Let them sing before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity.
Psalms 99
1The Lord reigns! Let the peoples tremble. He sits enthroned among the cherubim. Let the earth be moved.
2The Lord is great in Zion. He is high above all the peoples.
3Let them praise your great and awesome name. He is Holy!
4The King's strength also loves justice. You do establish equity. You execute justice and righteousness in Jacob.
5Exalt the Lord our God. Worship at his footstool. He is Holy!
6Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel among those who call on his name; they called on the Lord, and he answered them.
7He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud. They kept his testimonies, the statute that he gave them.
8You answered them, Lord our God. You are a God who forgave them, although you took vengeance for their doings.
9Exalt the Lord, our God. Worship at his holy hill, for the Lord, our God, is holy!
Psalms 100
1Shout for joy to the Lord, all you lands!
2Serve the Lord with gladness. Come before his presence with singing.
3Know that the Lord, he is God. It is he who has made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, and bless his name.
5For the Lord is good. His loving kindness endures forever, his faithfulness to all generations.
Psalms 101
1I will sing of loving kindness and justice. To you, Lord, I will sing praises.
2I will be careful to live a blameless life. When will you come to me? I will walk within my house with a blameless heart.
3I will set no vile thing before my eyes. I hate the deeds of faithless men. They will not cling to me.
4A perverse heart will be far from me. I will have nothing to do with evil.
5I will silence whoever secretly slanders his neighbor. I won't tolerate one who is haughty and conceited.
6My eyes will be on the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me. He who walks in a perfect way, he will serve me.
7He who practices deceit won't dwell within my house. He who speaks falsehood won't be established before my eyes.
8Morning by morning, I will destroy all the wicked of the land; to cut off all the workers of iniquity from the Lord's city.
Proverbs 23
1When you sit to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before you;
2put a knife to your throat, if you are a man given to appetite.
3Do not be desirous of his dainties, seeing they are deceitful food.
4Do not weary yourself to be rich. In your wisdom, show restraint.
5Why do you set your eyes on that which is not? For it certainly sprouts wings like an eagle and flies in the sky.
6Do not eat the food of him who has a stingy eye, and do not crave his delicacies:
7for as he thinks about the cost, so he is. "Eat and drink!" he says to you, but his heart is not with you.
8The morsel which you have eaten you shall vomit up, and lose your good words.
9Do not speak in the ears of a fool, for he will despise the wisdom of your words.
10Do not move the ancient boundary stone. Do not encroach on the fields of the fatherless:
11for their Defender is strong. He will plead their case against you.
12Apply your heart to instruction, and your ears to the words of knowledge.
13Do not withhold correction from a child. If you punish him with the rod, he will not die.
14Punish him with the rod, and save his soul from Sheol.
15My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad, even mine:
16yes, my heart will rejoice, when your lips speak what is right.
17Do not let your heart envy sinners; but rather fear the Lord all the day long.
18Indeed surely there is a future hope, and your hope will not be cut off.
19Listen, my son, and be wise, and keep your heart on the right path!
20Do not be among ones drinking too much wine, or those who gorge themselves on meat:
21for the drunkard and the glutton shall become poor; and drowsiness clothes them in rags.
22Listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.
23Buy the truth, and do not sell it. Get wisdom, discipline, and understanding.
24The father of the righteous has great joy. Whoever fathers a wise child delights in him.
25Let your father and your mother be glad! Let her who bore you rejoice!
26My son, give me your heart; and let your eyes keep in my ways.
27For a prostitute is a deep pit; and a wayward wife is a narrow well.
28Yes, she lies in wait like a robber, and increases the unfaithful among men.
29Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaints? Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes?
30Those who stay long at the wine; those who go to seek out mixed wine.
31Do not look at the wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly.
32In the end, it bites like a snake, and poisons like a viper.
33Your eyes will see strange things, and your mind will imagine confusing things.
34Yes, you will be as he who lies down in the midst of the sea, or as he who lies on top of the rigging:
35"They hit me, and I was not hurt! They beat me, and I do not feel it! When will I wake up? I can do it again. I can find another."
