Revelation 12
1A great sign was seen in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
2She was with child. She screamed out in pain, laboring to give birth.
3Another sign was seen in heaven. Behold, a great fiery red serpent, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven crowns.
4His tail drew one third of the stars of the sky, and threw them to the earth. The serpent stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child.
5She gave birth to a son, a male child, who is to rule all the nations with a rod of iron. Her child was caught up to God, and to his throne.
6The woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that there they may nourish her one thousand two hundred sixty days.
7There was war in the sky. Michael and his angels made war on the serpent. The serpent and his angels made war.
8They did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any more in heaven.
9The great serpent was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.
10I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now is come the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night.
11They overcame him because of the Lamb's blood, and because of the word of their testimony. They did not love their life, even to death.
12Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the land and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time."
13When the serpent saw that he was thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child.
14Two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, so that she might be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15The serpent spewed water out of his mouth after the woman like a river, that he might cause her to be carried away by the stream.
16The earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river which the serpent spewed out of his mouth.
17The serpent grew angry with the woman, and went away to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus.
18He stood on the sand of the sea.
Revelation 13
1I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads. On his horns were ten crowns, and on his heads, blasphemous names.
2The beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The serpent gave him his power, his throne, and great authority.
3One of his heads looked like it had been wounded fatally. His fatal wound was healed, and the whole earth was amazed and followed the beast.
4They worshiped the serpent, because he gave his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?"
5A mouth was given to him speaking proud words and blasphemies. There was given to him authority to act for forty-two months.
6He opened his mouth for blasphemies against God, to blaspheme his name, and his dwelling, those who dwell in heaven.
7It was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them. Authority over every tribe, people, language, and nation was given to him.
8All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who has been killed.
9If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
10If anyone has captivity, he will go into captivity. If anyone shall kill with the sword, with the sword he will be killed. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.
11I saw another beast coming up out of the earth. He had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke like a serpent.
12He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence. He makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose fatal wound was healed.
13He performs great signs, even making fire come down out of heaven to the earth in the sight of people.
14He deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs he was granted to do in front of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast who had been wounded by the sword and yet lived.
15It was given to him to give breath to it, to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast could both speak and cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.
16He causes all, the small and the great, the rich and the poor, and the free and the slave, to be given a mark on their right hands, or on their forehead;
17and that no one could be able to buy or to sell, unless he has that mark, the name of the beast or the number of his name.
18Here is wisdom. He who has understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is six hundred sixty-six.
Revelation 14
14I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with him one hundred forty-four thousand, having his name, and the name of his Father, written on their foreheads.
2I heard a sound from heaven, like the sound of many waters, and like the sound of a great thunder. The sound which I heard was like that of harpists playing on their harps.
3They sing a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the one hundred forty-four thousand, those who had been redeemed out of the earth.
4These are those who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed from among men, the first fruits to God and to the Lamb.
5In their mouth was found no lie, for they are blameless.
6I saw another angel flying in mid heaven, having an eternal Good News to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth, and to every nation, tribe, language, and people.
7He said with a loud voice, "Fear God, and give him glory; for the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and the springs of waters!"
8Another, a second angel, followed, saying, "Babylon the great has fallen, which has made all the nations to drink of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality."
9Another angel, a third, followed them, saying with a great voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead, or on his hand,
10he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is prepared unmixed in the cup of his anger. He will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.
11The smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever. They have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.
12Here is the patience of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."
13I heard the voice from heaven saying, "Write, 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.'" "Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors; for their works follow with them."
14I looked, and behold, a white cloud; and on the cloud one sitting like a son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
15Another angel came out from the temple, crying with a loud voice to him who sat on the cloud, "Send forth your sickle, and reap; for the hour to reap has come; for the harvest of the earth is ripe!"
16He who sat on the cloud thrust his sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.
17Another angel came out from the temple which is in heaven. He also had a sharp sickle.
18Another angel came out from the altar, he who has power over fire, and he called with a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, saying, "Send forth your sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, for it's grapes are fully ripe!"
19The angel thrust his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vintage of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God.
20The winepress was trodden outside of the city, and blood came out from the winepress, even to the bridles of the horses, as far as one thousand six hundred stadia.
Psalms 84
1How lovely are your dwellings, Lord of hosts!
2My soul longs, and even faints for the courts of the Lord. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
3Yes, the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young, near your altars, Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
4Blessed are those who dwell in your house. They are always praising you. Selah.
5Blessed are those whose strength is in you; who have set their hearts on a pilgrimage.
6Passing through the valley of Weeping, they make it a place of springs. Yes, the autumn rain covers it with blessings.
7They go from strength to strength. Everyone of them appears before God in Zion.
8Lord, God of Hosts, hear my prayer. Listen, God of Jacob. Selah.
9Behold, God our shield, look at the face of your anointed.
10For a day in your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11For the Lord God is a sun and a shield. The Lord will give grace and glory. He withholds no good thing from those who walk blamelessly.
12Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in you.
Proverbs 22
1A good name is more desirable than great riches, and loving favor is better than silver and gold.
2The rich and the poor have this in common: The Lord is the maker of them all.
3A prudent man sees danger, and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it.
4The result of humility and the fear of the Lord is wealth, honor, and life.
5Thorns and snares are in the path of the wicked: whoever guards his soul stays from them.
6Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
7The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender.
8He who sows wickedness reaps trouble, and the rod of his fury will be destroyed.
9He who has a generous eye will be blessed; for he shares his food with the poor.
10Drive out the mocker, and strife will go out; yes, quarrels and insults will stop.
11He who loves purity of heart and speaks gracefully is the king's friend.
12The eyes of the Lord watch over knowledge; but he frustrates the words of the unfaithful.
13The sluggard says, "There is a lion outside! I will be killed in the streets!"
14The mouth of an adulteress is a deep pit: he who is under the Lord's wrath will fall into it.
15Folly is bound up in the heart of a child: the rod of discipline drives it far from him.
16Whoever oppresses the poor for his own increase and whoever gives to the rich, both come to poverty.
17Turn your ear, and listen to the words of the wise. Apply your heart to my teaching.
18For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you, if all of them are ready on your lips.
19That your trust may be in the Lord, I teach you today, even you.
20Haven't I written to you thirty excellent things of counsel and knowledge,
21To teach you truth, reliable words, to give sound answers to the ones who sent you?
22Do not exploit the poor, because he is poor; and do not crush the needy in court;
23for the Lord will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them.
24Do not befriend a hot-tempered man, and do not associate with one who harbors anger:
25lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul.
26Do not be one of those who strike hands, of those who are collateral for debts.
27If you do not have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?
28Do not move the ancient boundary stone, which your fathers have set up.
29Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve kings. He won't serve obscure men.
