Numbers 27
1Then drew near the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph; and these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.
2They stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, at the door of the Tent of Meeting, saying,
3"Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not among the company of those who gathered themselves together against the Lord in the company of Korah: but he died in his own sin; and he had no sons.
4Why should the name of our father be taken away from among his family, because he had no son? Give to us a possession among the brothers of our father."
5Moses brought their cause before the Lord.
6The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
7"The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: you shall surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brothers; and you shall cause the inheritance of their father to pass to them.
8You shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, 'If a man dies, and has no son, then you shall cause his inheritance to pass to his daughter.
9If he has no daughter, then you shall give his inheritance to his brothers.
10If he has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his father's brothers.
11If his father has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his kinsman who is next to him of his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be to the children of Israel a statute and ordinance, as the Lord commanded Moses.'"
12The Lord said to Moses, "Go up into this mountain of Abarim, and see the land which I have given to the children of Israel.
13When you have seen it, you also shall be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother was gathered;
14because you rebelled against my word in the wilderness of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the waters before their eyes." (These are the waters of Meribah of Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.)
15Moses spoke to the Lord, saying,
16"Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation,
17who may go out before them, and who may come in before them, and who may lead them out, and who may bring them in; that the congregation of the Lord not be as sheep which have no shepherd."
18The Lord said to Moses, "Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him;
19and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and commission him in their sight.
20You shall put of your honor on him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may obey.
21He shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before the Lord: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation."
22Moses did as the Lord commanded him; and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation:
23and he laid his hands on him, and commissioned him, as the Lord spoke by Moses.
Numbers 28
1The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
2"Command the children of Israel, and tell them, 'My offering, my food for my offerings made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to me, you shall observe to offer to me in their due season.'
3You shall tell them, 'This is the offering made by fire which you shall offer to the Lord: male lambs a year old without blemish, two day by day, for a continual burnt offering.
4You shall offer the one lamb in the morning, and you shall offer the other lamb at evening;
5with the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering, mixed with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil.
6It is a continual burnt offering, which was ordained in Mount Sinai for a pleasant aroma, an offering made by fire to the Lord.
7Its drink offering shall be the fourth part of a hin for the one lamb. You shall pour out a drink offering of strong drink to the Lord in the holy place.
8The other lamb you shall offer at evening: as the meal offering of the morning, and as the drink offering of it, you shall offer it, an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to the Lord.
9"'On the Sabbath day two male lambs a year old without blemish, and two tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering, mixed with oil, and the drink offering of it:
10this is the burnt offering of every Sabbath, besides the continual burnt offering, and the drink offering of it.
11"'In the beginnings of your months you shall offer a burnt offering to the Lord: two young bulls, and one ram, seven male lambs a year old without blemish;
12and three tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering, mixed with oil, for each bull; and two tenth parts of fine flour for a meal offering, mixed with oil, for the one ram;
13and a tenth part of fine flour mixed with oil for a meal offering to every lamb; for a burnt offering of a pleasant aroma, an offering made by fire to the Lord.
14Their drink offerings shall be half a hin of wine for a bull, and the third part of a hin for the ram, and the fourth part of a hin for each lamb: this is the burnt offering of every month throughout the months of the year.
15One male goat for a sin offering to the Lord; it shall be offered besides the continual burnt offering, and the drink offering of it.
16"'In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, is the Lord's Passover.
17On the fifteenth day of this month shall be a feast: seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten.
18In the first day shall be a holy convocation: you shall do no servile work;
19but you shall offer an offering made by fire, a burnt offering to the Lord: two young bulls, and one ram, and seven male lambs a year old; they shall be to you without blemish;
20and their meal offering, fine flour mixed with oil: you shall offer three tenth parts for a bull, and two tenth parts for the ram.
21You shall offer a tenth part for every lamb of the seven lambs;
22and one male goat for a sin offering, to make atonement for you.
23You shall offer these besides the burnt offering of the morning, which is for a continual burnt offering.
24In this way you shall offer daily, for seven days, the food of the offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to the Lord: it shall be offered besides the continual burnt offering, and the drink offering of it.
25On the seventh day you shall have a holy convocation: you shall do no servile work.
26"'Also in the day of the first fruits, when you offer a new meal offering to the Lord in your feast of weeks, you shall have a holy convocation; you shall do no servile work;
27but you shall offer a burnt offering for a pleasant aroma to the Lord: two young bulls, one ram, seven male lambs a year old;
28and their meal offering, fine flour mixed with oil, three tenth parts for each bull, two tenth parts for the one ram,
29a tenth part for every lamb of the seven lambs;
30one male goat, to make atonement for you.
31Besides the continual burnt offering, and the meal offering of it, you shall offer them (they shall be to you without blemish), and their drink offerings.
Psalms 135
1Praise Yah! Praise the name of the Lord! Praise him, you servants of the Lord,
2you who stand in the house of the Lord, in the courts of our God's house.
3Praise Yah, for the Lord is good. Sing praises to his name, for that is pleasant.
4For Yah has chosen Jacob for himself; Israel for his own possession.
5For I know that the Lord is great, that our Lord is above all gods.
6Whatever the Lord pleased, that he has done, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps;
7who causes the clouds to rise from the ends of the earth; who makes lightnings with the rain; who brings forth the wind out of his treasuries;
8Who struck the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and animal;
9Who sent signs and wonders into the midst of you, Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his servants;
10who struck many nations, and killed mighty kings,
11Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan,
12and gave their land for a heritage, a heritage to Israel, his people.
13Your name, Lord, endures forever; your renown, Lord, throughout all generations.
14For the Lord will judge his people, and have compassion on his servants.
15The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
16They have mouths, but they can't speak. They have eyes, but they can't see.
17They have ears, but they can't hear; neither is there any breath in their mouths.
18Those who make them will be like them; yes, everyone who trusts in them.
19House of Israel, praise the Lord! House of Aaron, praise the Lord!
20House of Levi, praise the Lord! You who fear the Lord, praise the Lord!
21Blessed be the Lord from Zion, Who dwells at Jerusalem. Praise Yah!
Proverbs 11
1A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but accurate weights are his delight.
2When pride comes, then comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom.
3The integrity of the upright shall guide them, but the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.
4Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
5The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, but the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.
7When a wicked man dies, hope perishes, and expectation of power comes to nothing.
8A righteous person is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked takes his place.
9With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.
10When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
12One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace.
13One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.
14Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory.
15He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it, but he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure.
16A gracious woman obtains honor, but violent men obtain riches.
17The merciful man does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
18Wicked people earn deceitful wages, but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
19He who is truly righteous gets life. He who pursues evil gets death.
20Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to the Lord, but those whose ways are blameless are his delight.
21Most certainly, the evil man will not be unpunished, but the seed of the righteous will be delivered.
22Like a gold ring in a pig's snout, is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.
23The desire of the righteous is only good. The expectation of the wicked is wrath.
24There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.
25The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself.
26People curse someone who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.
27He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but he who searches after evil, it shall come to him.
28He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.
29He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind. The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.
30The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. He who is wise wins souls.
31Behold, the righteous shall be repaid in the earth; how much more the wicked and the sinner!
